2022-23 October #2: God in Nature
Welcome to the His Little Way blog!
It’s time for another booklet and this one is just in time to celebrate Fall! This 2nd booklet in October is a great resource to show your littles that God is all around us! Below are some helpful resources to use with our October #2: God in Nature.
Our God in Nature booklet is different from our other booklets because you can choose when in October that you present it to your littles. It is not attached to a specific feast day. Keep in mind, if you would like to celebrate our Friend in the Corner, Pope Saint John Paul II, on his feast day it’s on October 22nd.
And as always, if you have any questions, suggestions, or anything to share – please email us!

Tiny Treasures
Page 1:
This booklet focuses on God’s creation. We need to remember that we are just taking care or stewards of all that God has created.
Page 2:
Talk to your littles about how we are God’s very special creation.
Have a classroom or family discussion about:
- How we love like God.
- How we create life like God.
- How we take care of people like God.
Good Stewardship is using your time, talent and treasure.
How can we be good stewards too!
- Time
- Visit your grandparents or a neighbor.
- Help clean your room or take care of a younger brother or sister.
- Talent
- Help a friend or a brother or sister with a puzzle.
- Read a story to a younger brother or sister.

- Treasure

God’s creation is all around us. Use the photos to start a conversation. God made each of these things for us.
- What beauty does He want us to see in them?
- What is each one’s purpose?
- How can we be good stewards to these creations?
- How does this show that He loves us?
Pope Saint John Paul II loved being outdoors. He loved hiking and being surrounded by nature. He loved young people and had several gatherings called, “World Youth Day”. While he was pope he declared 482 people saints. When someone is officially declared a saint, they are “canonized.” That’s more saints canonized than the previous 600 years before he was pope. Like St. Faustina, he had a special love of the Divine Mercy. He died on the day before Divine Mercy Sunday.

- After completing the dot-dot picture, talk about how you can take care of the animal in the picture and other animals that God has created.
- Why do you think we should take care of things that are living?
- How is taking care of an animal like taking care of a baby brother or sister? How is it different?
- This would be a good time to talk about that St. Francis is the patron saint of animals. Ask St. Francis to watch over your favorite animals.
Social/Emotional Learning
- How can you take care of God’s Creation?
- Be aware of people around you that are sad and lonely. Give them a hug.
- Be respectful of nature. Give birdseed to the birds, teach your littles not to smash bugs outside, look at and admire the flowers, leaves and sky.
Days to Watch for
- Oct 4-Feast Day of St. Francis
- Oct 22-Feast Day of Pope Saint John Paul II
Extras
- Show your littles the awe of God’s creation by:
- Watching caterpillars change into butterflies
- Incubating chick eggs and watching them hatch
- These would be great ideas to do during the Lenten/Easter season too!
- Our featured word for this booklet to indicate the page numbers is CARE. We chose this because we can show God our love by caring for His creation.
- Check out these books about how we can find God in His creation below:
